Accessibility Statement.
We want this site to be usable by as many people as possible, including those who rely on assistive technologies. Here is where we stand, and how to tell us if we fall short.
01Our commitment
Royal Claims Services Ltd. is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, and screen magnification. We treat accessibility as part of how the work should be done, online and off.
02The standard we work to
We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG is the technical standard referenced by Canadian accessibility law, including the federal Accessible Canada Act and provincial statutes such as Ontario’s Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), the Accessibility for Manitobans Act, and the Nova Scotia and British Columbia accessibility acts. We use WCAG 2.2 AA as our working benchmark even where an earlier version is the current legal minimum.
03What we have done
Measures built into this site include:
- semantic HTML structure, landmarks, and a “skip to content” link;
- full keyboard navigation with visible focus indicators;
- colour contrast that meets Level AA, and text that resizes without loss of content;
- descriptive text alternatives for meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology;
- labelled, accessible forms with clear, specific error messages;
- respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting, so animation is minimized for those who prefer it.
We do not use accessibility overlays or automated widgets, which do not deliver genuine conformance.
04Known limitations
We are improving continually, and some content may not yet fully conform. This is most likely with third-party content or documents we did not produce, and with older PDFs. Where we identify a barrier, we work to remove it.
05Alternate formats
If you need information from this site in an alternate format, such as large print, accessible electronic text, or another format that works for you, contact us and we will provide it in a timely way and at no additional cost to you.
06Tell us about a barrier
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter a barrier on this site, or have a suggestion, please contact us so we can help and improve. Email accessibility@royalclaims.ca or call 1-866-347-6128. It helps to tell us the page, the problem, and how you would like us to respond. We aim to acknowledge feedback within two business days.
07Ongoing review
This statement reflects our current accessibility status and is reviewed and updated as the site evolves and as Canadian standards advance toward WCAG 2.2 and beyond.
