Lisa Kurath is Claims Supervisor at Royal Claims Services Ltd. She supervises and mentors the firm’s claims specialists while overseeing complex property, marine and accident benefit claims: reviewing files, providing technical guidance, approving settlements and making sure every file meets the regulatory and service standards the firm holds itself to.

Lisa has been with Royal Claims since 2016, first as a Claims Specialist managing her own portfolio of property, marine and accident benefit claims from investigation and coverage assessment through negotiation and resolution, and since 2023 as supervisor of the team. She came to claims from the accounts side, having spent three years in accounts receivable at Special Risk Insurance Managers, the coverholder whose programs Royal Claims administers, which gives her an unusually complete view of how a claim moves from first notice to payment.

Lisa holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and received the CIP Top Claims Award in 2023. She studied accounting at the University College of the Fraser Valley, is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada, and is based in British Columbia.
