About Marco

Marco Reid is a Senior Claims Specialist at Royal Claims Services Ltd. He examines specialty and unusual liability risks across Canada, acts as the team’s coverage and policy specialist and peer reviewer on complex claims, and leads its fraud work, coordinating surveillance, interviews and misrepresentation assessments where a loss does not add up.

Marco joined Royal Claims in August 2025 with more than eight years in liability claims. At DWF LLP he handled commercial general liability, errors and omissions, wrap-up and legal expense litigation across Canada and the United States, delivering compliance-grade reporting to Lloyd’s of London syndicates under delegated authority. At Desjardins General Insurance Group he spent five years as a Senior Bodily Injury Claims Analyst on high-exposure files involving paralysis, brain injury and fatalities, setting reserves above two million dollars and negotiating with counsel through mediation and discovery, and later led internal investigations into contractor fraud, regulatory breaches and workplace safety violations. He has also managed catastrophic injury and property claims with US exposure for CAA Club Group.

Marco holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary, with a focus on industrial and organizational psychology. He is fluent in English and Spanish, is learning French, and is based in British Columbia.
